Finding Freedom through Insight

With Riët Aarsse and Jessica Mui

January 3 - 8, 2026

This retreat is the third in a series of four retreats, seven Insight Dialogue teachers from around the world will guide an exploration into how the relational practice of Insight Dialogue, silent meditation, and the support of friends can help us develop greater awareness, wisdom, and compassion.

Retreat 3: Finding Freedom through Insight

Finding wisdom, insight, and release from relational suffering with the support of spiritual friends

How do we maintain a sense of stability and openness while in contact with others? Much of our life is with others, and it can be challenging to maintain inner harmony and connection when we are in the busy-ness of our lives. Sometimes we withdraw to meditate in solitude and re-connect with our inner world. Back into life this stability may vanish easily when we are in contact with others again.

In this relational meditation retreat, space will be offered to explore the conditions that support the sense of open connection with others. What hinders, what supports being free from relational suffering? We will focus on those aspects of friendship that limit our sense of connection caused by greed, aversion and delusion. Deepening insight in our sense of self opens the pathway to release and the end of relational dukkha.
